It was love at first sight the day Amanda Loreth found that dusty, old flute in the attic of her childhood home in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts although she never could have imagined the places music would take her.

In high school, Amanda played first chair flute for the Tyngsboro High school Symphonic Wind band which won the prestigious "Superior" rating (the highest honor awarded at competition) all 4 years she was in attendance. This has yet to be repeated by another graduating class. After completion of High school, she attended The University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a Major in Music Education and studied flute under the direction of Susan Gall and Melissa Mielens. At UML, she was instructed in conducting, composition, music theory, aural/auditory recognition and the art of teaching brass, wind and string instruments in a single and multi student, classical setting. While in college, Amanda also played with the UML Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and various other chamber music ensembles lead by Professors Daniel P. Lutz and David Martins.

Amanda started teaching at Pepperell Music Center when it opened in September of 2006. She also gives in-home lessons and instructed at Dracut Music Center in Dracut, Massachusetts. She specializes in (beginner to) advanced flute/piccolo, clarinet, recorder and music theory; (beginner to) intermediate violin, cello and oboe; and beginner trumpet, trombone, saxophone and viola. Amanda has a passion for bringing out the joy and emotion in music by promoting individuality, creativity, humor and confidence while demonstrating a deeper musical understanding. She wants her students to understand that music is not only a gift, a passion and a lifestyle but most of all, it's fun!
