Darrell is a classically trained pianist who has been playing piano since 1999. He has studied performance and music theory under three private instructors. Currently, Darrell is a Fitchburg State University student following the musical instruction of Robin Dinda, Jane Fiske, as well as the private instruction of Michael Dugas.

Darrell has been teaching for over ten years and has been teaching piano at the Pepperell Music Center since the fall of 2007. He takes pride in making piano lessons fun for students and specializes in teaching younger kids.

Along with classical performance, Darrell also teaches jazz, blues and rock piano styles along with composition techniques. Darrell is also qualified to teach introductory drums and guitar to younger students.

To supplement his piano instruction, Darrell's lesson room is equipped with a weighted, full-sized Roland FP-3 keyboard, a Roland V-Combo Organ and a Roland Sho-1 Synthesizer to teach keyboard styles on various keyboarded devices. His room also contains a mini recording studio for student recording projects.
